Poha Bataka
Poha bataka is such a quick and satisfying meal or snack to make with simple ingredients!
Servings: 4
Ingredients:
2 tbsp oil
2 cups dried poha (medium thickness poha)
½ small onion
2 large potatoes, finely diced
½ tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp turmeric
2 tsp salt
1 jalapeno, finely diced (optional)
1 tsp minced green chilies
1 tsp minced garlic
3 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp sugar
Directions:
Soak poha is a large bowl with cold water for 2-3 minutes
Strain the water from the poha and set aside
Heat large pan on medium heat and add 2 tbsp of oil
Add mustard seeds, turmeric, onions and cook for 2 minutes
Add diced potatoes and salt and cook for 7-9 minutes, stirring occasionally. If needed add a splash of water.
Add diced jalapeno, green chilies and garlic and cook for 2 minutes
Add poha, lemon juice and sugar and toss to mix evely
Cook on low for 3-5 minutes
Optional: garnish with cilantro
