Loaded Queso

This homemade loaded queso is so easy to make and 10x better than store-bought!

Servings: 20-25

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 2 tbsp white flour

  • 1 tbsp minced garlic (or 6 cloves minced)

  • 2 tbsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 4 cups whole milk

  • 1/2 small onion, finely chopped

  • 2 Roma tomatoes, finely chopped

  • 2 jalapeños, finely chopped

  • 3 cups shredded cheddar

  • 6 slices pepper jack cheese

  • 1 can black beans, rinsed

Directions:

  1. Add flour and butter to a pot and mix together for 3-4 minutes

  2. Once it starts to brown add the garlic, chili powder and salt and mix together for another 1-2 minutes

  3. Add in milk, vegetables, cheese and mix together until cheese is melted

  4. Add in black beans until well combined and serve hot

  5. Enjoy!

Notes:

  • If it gets thick when warming it up out of the fridge, add a little milk to loosen it back up

  • If you want to kick up the spice I recommend adding a few dashes of habanero sauce - my favorite is El Yucateco brand!
